Considerable interest in AP&T’s production solution for hot forming of high-strength aluminum at Aluminium China 2018
One of the strongest trends in the international car industry today involves new and lighter materials and designs. This was abundantly clear at Aluminium China 2018, which was held in Shanghai between July 11 and 13. AP&T was there to forge new contacts and present its unique production solution for hot forming of high-strength aluminum.
Around 500 exhibitors and approximately 20,000 visitors from all over the world took part in the expo. All of the links in the value chain were represented, from material manufacturers and furnace developers to component suppliers (tier 1) and car manufacturers (OEMs).
“This was the first time that AP&T took part in an expo that was entirely focused on aluminum, and it was very rewarding. We were there both to increase our own industry know-how and to share our knowledge of the opportunities afforded by our production solution for hot formed body components made out of high-strength aluminum. After three intense days at the expo, potential customers from South Korea, Japan and China, for instance, were clearly interested in our solution,” says AP&T CTO, Dr. Christian Koroschetz.
AP&T's production solution enables complexly shaped car parts with very low weight and high strength to be manufactured in a rational and cost-efficient process. Among other things, a complete line includes automation, furnace equipment and, importantly, AP&T’s unique servo hydraulic press that enables short cycle times, high precision and low energy consumption. Service and training are also included in the offer.
“Anyone who was unable to see our presentation in Shanghai will be able to do so in Dusseldorf at Aluminium 2018, where we will take part between October 9 and 11. We will present our solutions for both hot forming and cold forming of aluminum. We warmly welcome both new and existing customers,” says Christian Koroschetz.
