A new cooperation agreement with ISGEC, an Indian engineering company, will pave the way for AP&T to enter yet another important market and strengthen its industry-leading position within press hardening.
“Gaining entry to the expansive Indian market means that we have new opportunities for continued long-term growth. Demand for press hardened products is increasing substantially, and we see a great deal of potential for our production solutions,” says Per Josefsson, vice president, sales and marketing at AP&T.
The cooperation agreement initially specifies that AP&T’s hydraulic presses for the Indian market will be manufactured by ISGEC in Yamunanagar. Marketing and sales of complete press hardening lines will be handled jointly by the two companies.
“The presses will be identical to the ones we produce ourselves in Sweden, but with supplementary local production we can keep costs at a level that allows us to stand up to the extremely stiff competition in India. We have a great deal of confidence in ISGEC, which has an excellent reputation globally in terms of both quality and corporate social responsibility,” says Per Josefsson.
