A successful year full of challenges
2022 has been an eventful year full of major challenges in many areas. Rising material and energy prices, long delivery times and a generally high inflation have all impacted our business. But fortunately, we have seen a positive development in our order intake equal to last year’s record, despite all these challenges.
Behind these positive figures, a few things can be found: a strongly increased demand for production lines for manufacturing heat exchanger plates and strong sales of production solutions for press hardening. Our investment in fiber forming is also starting to pay off. Here, we have several interesting customer collaborations that focus on replacing plastic products with sustainable, bio-based alternatives. On the services side, we have continued to develop our offering of service contracts that ensure high technical availability and performance throughout the life cycle. With the same purpose, an increasing number of customers have chosen to allow us to upgrade and optimize their older AP&T machines to present-day standards. In other words, we are continuing to do our best to live up to our commitment of being One Responsible Partner®.
2022 was also the year that we could travel more freely again, which naturally facilitates everything from servicing existing machines to meetings with new and existing customers. However, experience from the pandemic shows that there is a lot that can be done locally or remotely. For example, our employees in China have done an amazing job in assisting our customers there despite continued lock downs.
Though the economic situation now seems to be tapering, we are entering 2023 with a belief in the future and a hope for many rewarding, successful customer collaborations.
